What a wonderful Christmas it has been for us, we finally got to have Scott home with us this year (no work). I am usually a humbug when it comes to Christmas but this year I enjoyed it, making gifts and spending time with family and having all of us home. Christmas was about Christ this year, less of the hussle and bussle and more of the spending time and not money. I love traditions, we have just one tradition in our family opening P.J.'s on Christmas Eve, putting them on and wearing them for the rest of the day. This year we add a new tradition, we watched the birth of Christ right before bedtime, we want the kids to remember what Christmas is about and what the whole purpose of Christmas is. We need to remember that Heavenly Father gave us all a gift, his Son and we should always remember that. When my kids (Tyler) complains about passing out gifts or doing something for somebody else, I just say "Christmas is about GIVING not Getting". So I hope that we all remembered Christ this Christmas, and the gift he is to us.
Christmas morning, thanks family for the wonderful gifts.Do you want to know why I am such a humbug at Christmas time! Well let me start from the beginning.
I love to sleep in, I love to stay in my bed and sleep the morning away. And being a kid you get 2 whole weeks off for Christmas I was not thinking of presents I was thinking of all those days of sleeping in. I shared a room with my older sister until we were teenagers, but even then we still slept together on Christmas eve. She is a morning person, need I say more? She gets so excited for Christmas she doesn't sleep, so guess who she loves to wake up all night long saying "are you awake?" I try to ignore her but then she will shake me awake if I don't answer her. I am thinking "curse you sister" (do you see why I humbug?). This however did not work because I married a man who not only sets his alarm on Christmas eve and wakes up before it goes off, he wakes me up and wakes the kids up if they are still asleep. So I will say sorry to my sister and never curse her again, because it came back and bit me on the butt.
Love you all and Merry Christmas!
