Moms Only Weekend

Once a year Mom, Jody, Sherrie, Desi and I take a nice little vaca from the kids and husbands. I know it's hard to believe that we could pull ourselves away from our loved ones for so many days, but believe me when I say it wasn't that hard (we still love you). Me and Sherrie hop in her hubby truck heading North, while Mom, Jody and Desi hop in moms little car heading South. We meet in the middle and head on up the mountain to Sherries cabin (thanks Sherrie).
Can you believe this is the view we saw everyday while we were up there? It was beautiful (except for the snow)! We just had to walk out the doors and enjoy this from every direction. I think the sun setting was my favorite, just watching the colors change slowly form red, purple, blue as the sun sinks into the mountain. WOW
We not only enjoyed the view outside we also enjoyed the hot tub. Your probably wondering why the bottom two pictures of us in the hot tub are kinda fuzzy. Well let me tell you about the wild and suicidal Pot Gut they have..... Jody, Desi and I sat it in the nice warm hot tub enjoying the nature sounds and the cool breeze. But something was missing in our nice warm water, "BUBBLES" that is what we needed. As we started to fiddle with the buttons to turn on the bubbles, something caught the corner of my eye. But not just me, Jody sees it too, a rolly polly pot gut is running straight at us with those short little nubbin legs (and trust me he was cruising). Let me just say that we have one light on and its in front of us, so we can't see a single thing in the water. Being surprised at this little guy, we step back, and then we see him jump up on the stairs to the hot tub. We all start screaming, and splashing the water out of the hot tub hoping that he goes with it. Something brushes Jody's leg and she jumps on the small rim of the hot tub. Desi starts laughing at Jody, then all the sudden the light flick on and Sherrie pops her head out of the door and my mom peeks through the window. Did they ask us if we're ok? NO, they just laughed at us and took pictures. Anyways, we search the water frantically hoping its not in there, ok me and Jody search while Desi laughed. Nope, he was not in there and neither was all our warm water. Let me just say watch our for those fuzzy pot guts if your in Beaver.

Ok, we also do have other activities besides hot tubbin we have crafts (thanks mom and sis). This year we made a Halloween table runner. It was so cute, pumpkins, ghost and a bat. We love to just be with each other and make each other laugh, which we had plenty of both.

These are just some fun pictures we took on a warm day. As you can see my sister had way to many yummy sweets, that we had at the cabin.

This is all of us just having a good time and enjoying the peace and quiet. Ok, not so much quiet.
I just want to say thanks to the hubby's for letting us take off and leaving the kids at home. Mom's do need a brake every once in awhile and this is what we all needed.
So big hugs and kisses from me.
I so can't wait for next year......

Rope Rescue Training

Scott and a couple of his co-workers went up to Washington for Rope Rescue Training.
Different companies also sent there guys out to this training, here are some of them.

This is Seattle, Washington, where you will find the Space Needle.

Can you believe the beautiful views they have up there.
I am so going with him for round number 2

This is a little bit of Mount Erie and Chuckanut. They learned how to rappel down a side of a cliff, patient packaging and retrieval. Basically they learn how to rescue someone off a cliff.

This is also Chuckanut, here they are High Lining. It's taking someone across a large gap, or they take them to the middle of the gap and lower them down into it.

This is District 4 Fire Station and Training Facility.
They learned how to rescue people from a building.

Scott said this is one of the hardest trainings that he has been to, long hours and lots of sore muscles. But he also said it was by far the best one he has gone to.

October 23, 2008

Scott took the kids to the Renaissance fair in Las Vegas.
They had lots of fun and plenty to eat.
They enjoyed watching all the wierd people dressed up in robes and sneakers.
Then they headed to the Bass shop to get some stuff for there dad.
(I think they had more fun there)

Spiders

Me and Morgan were enjoying the wonderful weather outside just soaking up the sun and feeling the lite breeze. We looked at my flower bed and decided that these huge plants that were taller than Morgan had to go. One by one we pulled these suckers out and just as we got to a root of one, a huge spider jumped on me. If you know me you can guess what happened next. I started screaming, shaking my leg and running all at the same time. Poor Morgan in confusion of what was going on screamed and ran with me. Thank goodness there were no neighbors around, that would have been a sight. After that little incident we went into the house, never to set foot out the front door until dad got home and killed the spider. For the rest of the day I had the Heebie Jeebies, felt like something was crawling on me all the time. After a long day Scott comes home and guess what he brings..... a tarantula from work (again). Why would you bring a spider home if you know your wife will NOT let you keep it? These are the times when I wonder were his brain is, obviously not in his head. Let me just say it will be a while until I go and pull my weeds again. I love you babe, please stop bringing them home. I HATE spiders!

Tyler

I finely got some pictures of Tyler, it wasn't easy but I succeeded. He is just growing up so fast, he is only about a half an inch shorter than me. His feet are the size of his dads, and he is in men's clothes. I no longer can shop in the kids area for him. He is growing into a fine young man but I miss that little blond, blue eye baby boy. Not only is he growing so is his brain, he is moving into accelerated reading and honors math. We are so proud of him.

Here a frog there a frog everywhere a frog, frog...

Yesterday was one of those days where you can just open the windows and let the soft cool breeze flow through the whole house, you can hear all kinds of birds singing and the bugs chirping. But when a day like this happens there is always something that comes with it. If you look out your window you could see a storm rolling in, see the lightning as it feels the whole sky and hear the thunder rumbling. Don't you just love a good rain storm? Slowly the darkness wins and everything goes into hiding to wait out the storm. Well everyone but the Acton clan, we decided to go frog hunting. Yes, you read it right "frog hunting" and let me tell you it was a night to remember. Morgan couldn't contain herself with excitement as we catched these little guys. Even I caught one, but said "eww eww eww" the whole time it squirmed in my hand until I put it in the bucket. Wonderful Scott held the bucket that had all the frogs in it. Every time he opened that bucket they tried to exscape, they climbed all over him trying to find a way out. And trust me they are quick little buggers. But don't think of us as cruel by containing these frogs, we were saving there lives. All these frogs that we collected were on the road, some were already dead from vehicles that could not avoid the many frogs. We decided to catch as many as we can so nobody else would run them over. Once we were done we took them home and let them go in our yard were they would be safe. We had such a wonderful time we can't wait for the next rain storm to come so we can catch some more...
